The Crawley venue’s glitzy makeover was completed over lockdown

Work has been completed at Hollywood Bowl’s Crawley centre to transform it into a glamorous latest generation venue.

Completed to coincide with the reopening of Hollywood Bowl’s English centres on 15th August, the £450,000 refurbishment took place during lockdown, with the UK’s biggest bowling operator updating its iconic American décor to make its Crawley centre more stylish than ever.

The upgraded Hollywood Bowl has seen the makeover of its existing 24 lanes, plus the addition of two new ones and the inclusion of the new state-of-the-art scoring system. Visitors looking for the real ‘star’ treatment can also take advantage of the renovated VIP lanes, with new plush furnishings.

In addition to the upgraded lanes, guests can also treat themselves to a range of tasty American-style classics in the new-look Hollywood Diner. The offering includes burgers and dogs, and delicious freshly made shakes.

The Diner is complemented by a fully-stocked bar and American pool tables for those wanting to sit back and relax before or after a game.

The centre’s impressive arcade area has also been transformed and now features the most popular and industry-leading games, and the opportunity to ‘Play for Prizes’, where visitors can win tickets on their favourite games and exchange them for a range of fun rewards.

Lewis Harvey, Centre Manager at Hollywood Bowl Crawley said:The refurbishment has not only given the centre a completely new look, it’s given our guests so much more variety too! The centre has had a glamorous LA-style makeover and we’re delighted to be able to continue to give our customers the best family entertainment experience with our transformation into a new generation Hollywood Bowl.”

As with the reopening of other Hollywood Bowl centres across the UK, Crawley has seen the introduction of enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures to ensure guests can have fun and play safe, with customer guidance throughout the centre also in place. Only alternate bowling lanes and amusement machines are in use to provide extra space, and bar and dining area seating is appropriately spaced out.

Guests have the choice to wear disposable gloves for their games, must wear their own suitable footwear and use the available hand sanitiser upon entry and exit. Enhanced cleaning takes place throughout the day, including the cleaning of bowling balls, lane seating and touch screens in between every game.

Customers are encouraged to pre-book bowling to guarantee their lane, and can now make bookings for the Crawley centre via the Hollywood Bowl website.
