Following an electrifying start and unprecedented demand, Bill Kenwright Ltd and Paul Taylor-Mills are thrilled to announce that The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical<\/em><\/strong><\/a> will be extending its run at The Other Palace until 31 August 2025.<\/p>\n

Since breaking box office records at The Other Palace, audiences have been flocking to see the UK premiere of the beloved franchise live on stage since opening last month.<\/p>\n

Based on the much-loved best-selling book series by Rick Riordan<\/strong> (with over 180 million copies sold worldwide), Percy Jackson\u2019s story has been adapted into both films and a major hit TV series for Disney+. The musical first premiered off-Broadway in 2014 to rave reviews and went on to have two US tours, an off-Broadway run in 2017 and a 16-week limited run on Broadway in 2019.<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>When New York City teenager Percy Jackson discovers that he is the half-blood son of the Greek god, Poseidon, his life takes a dramatic turn as he is plunged into a world much bigger than he could possibly have imagined.<\/em><\/p>\n

This dynamic musical adaptation of Rick Riordan<\/strong>\u2019s bestselling The Lightning Thief<\/em> has a book by Joe Tracz<\/strong> (Be More Chill<\/em>), music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki<\/strong> (Monstersongs<\/em>) and is directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee<\/strong> (Groundhog Day<\/em>). Set and costume design is by Ryan Dawson Laight <\/strong>(<\/em>My Son\u2019s A Queer (But What Can You Do?)<\/em>) <\/em>with lighting design by Charlie Morgan Jones <\/strong>(<\/em>Derren Brown –\u00a0Showman<\/em>), <\/em>sound design by Dominic Bilkey<\/strong> (<\/em>The Lehman Trilogy<\/em>), <\/em>video design\u00a0by Duncan McLean<\/strong> (<\/em>Shrek The Musical<\/em>), <\/em>illusions by Richard Pinner<\/strong> (<\/em>Here You Come Again<\/em>)<\/em>, fight direction by Lisa Connell <\/strong>(Heathers) <\/em>and puppet direction by Laura Cubitt <\/strong>(A Monster Calls). <\/em>The musical supervisor is Jeremy Wootton <\/strong>(Heathers),<\/em> and musical director is Ben McQuigg <\/strong>(<\/em>The Power of Camelot<\/em>). <\/em>Assistant Director is Danielle Kassarat\u00e9<\/strong> (Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time), <\/em>assistant choreographer Libby Watts<\/strong> (Wicked) and <\/em>associate set and costume designer is Christophe Eynde.<\/strong>
