Next week, over 80+ local actors and dogs will take to Theatre Royal Brighton<\/strong>\u2019s historic stage in a brand-new production from beloved local producers Brighton Theatre Group<\/strong>.<\/p>

Following the sell-out run of Les Mis\u00e9rables – Let the People Sing <\/em>in 2025,<\/em> Brighton Theatre Group returns to Theatre Royal Brighton this August with a Truly Scrumptious production of one of the world\u2019s favourite family musicals \u2014 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.<\/strong><\/p>

The amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International<\/strong> and features a host of talented actors and dog performers \u2014 all who are local to the Brighton and wider Sussex area.<\/p>

Keith Shepherd<\/strong>, Chairman of Brighton Theatre Group, said: \u201cFollowing the incredible success of Les Miserables celebrating 40 years of the world\u2019s favourite musical in 2025, I\u2019m delighted to return to the prestigious landmark Theatre Royal Brighton with the world\u2019s favourite family musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Producing theatre in my home city, in a theatre I\u2019ve been familiar with for a lifetime, is a real privilege and to step where the good and the great of UK theatre has stood is a real pinch me moment. New stars are born of this famous stage that lives along with the Royal Pavilion as one of Brighton\u2019s greatest assets.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Principal casting includes Carl Lovejoy <\/strong>as Caractacus Potts<\/em>, Kiarnie Camp <\/strong>as Truly Scrumptious<\/em>, Georgia Burns <\/strong>and Eve Morris Fuzi <\/strong>as Jemima Potts<\/em>, Aaryan Willmot <\/strong>and Ronnie Harman <\/strong>as Jeremy Potts. <\/em>They are accompanied Steve Emery <\/strong>as Grandpa Potts, <\/em>Gary Lynn <\/strong>as Baron Bomburst, <\/em>Jodie Michelle <\/strong>as Baroness Bomburst <\/em>and Dean Cowlard <\/strong>and Philip Lloyd Davies <\/strong>as Boris <\/em>and Goran<\/em>, Nick Jordan <\/strong>as The Toymaker, <\/em>Jake Beniston <\/strong>as Child Cacher, <\/em>Katherine Johnson Miller <\/strong>as Miss Phillips <\/em>and Violet<\/em>, and Wain Douglas <\/strong>as Lord Scrumptious <\/em>and Sid.<\/em><\/p>

Among the cast is also English Sheepdog Marco<\/strong>, <\/em>who performs onstage alongside Grandpa Potts<\/em> in the role of Edison.<\/em><\/p>

The cast have been tirelessly rehearsing multiple times a week for the past few months, despite other responsibilities, busy schedules and the summer heat. On rehearsing alongside his fellow cast members, Carl Lovejoy <\/strong>(Caractacus Potts) <\/em>said:<\/p>

\u201cThere\u2019s fewer places more full of fun and talent than a BTG rehearsal. Putting the show together is always such an exciting experience! Caractacus brings a lot to the table I\u2019ve not done before. It\u2019s my first time playing a father which was a bit nerve-wracking at first but I\u2019ve loved it!\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>

Kiarnie Camp<\/strong> (Truly Scrumptious), <\/em>is looking forward to returning to Theatre Royal Brighton following her debut in Les Mis\u00e9rables. <\/em>She said: \u201cIt\u2019s such a beautiful theatre that it\u2019s impossible not to feel excited every time you walk out in front of the audience. It\u2019s a real privilege to perform there.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

The fun-filled musical promises laughter, exuberant choreography and a live orchestra \u2014 featuring many favourite songs, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang<\/em>,\u00a0Hushabye Mountain<\/em>,\u00a0Toot Sweet<\/em>,\u00a0Posh<\/em> and\u00a0Me Ol\u2019 Bamboo<\/em>.<\/p>

Can Potts, Truly, Jeremy & Jemima outwit the dastardly Baron Bomburst who has decreed that all children be banished from his kingdom?
<\/em>Will the Child Catcher catch them, or will good prevail over evil?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>
