Hosted by legendary comic podcasters <strong>Elis James<\/strong>, <strong>John Robins<\/strong> and <strong>Dave Masterman<\/strong>, who are DJ\u2019ing together for the first time in over two years, the day rave brings indie and pop tunes from the 80s to the present day to Brighton Dome Concert Hall, with the odd special guest too.<\/p><p>Also new to the line up at Brighton Dome are internationally acclaimed comedian and filmmaker <strong>Simon Amstell<\/strong>, who performs <em><strong>I Love It Here <\/strong><\/em>in the Concert Hall as part of a strictly limited tour, and Northern Irish-Australian stand up <strong>Jimeoin <\/strong>(<em>Live at the Apollo<\/em>), whose new show <em><strong>Ballyhoo <\/strong><\/em>comes to the Corn Exchange. In the Studio Theatre, Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award-nominated star of Channel 4\u2019s <em>Mitchell &amp; Webb Are Not Helping<\/em>, <strong>Lara Ricote<\/strong>, explores millennial angst and self-discovery in <em><strong>Inkling<\/strong><\/em> and BBC New Comedy Award winner <strong>Dan Tiernan<\/strong> is armed with jokes, punchlines and rocks in <em><strong>Quartz and All<\/strong><\/em>. Cult cartoonists<strong> Modern Toss<\/strong> are back, with an exhibition in Brighton Dome Founders Room throughout the Festival.<\/p><p>For younger comedy fans, comic duo and Brighton Dome favourites <strong>Shelf<\/strong> return to the Studio Theatre with child-friendly music and sketches in <em><strong>The Kids Show 2<\/strong><\/em>. And swear-free standup showcase <em><strong>Live at Brighton Dome BLEEPED<\/strong><\/em> is back in the Corn Exchange, for ages 11 and up.<\/p><p>Over at Komedia, <em>Guardian<\/em> political sketch writer <strong>John Crace<\/strong> asks <em><strong>What The Hell Just Happened?<\/strong><\/em> in the Basement. After selling out in Edinburgh last year, <strong>Kim Blythe<\/strong> presents her brand-new show <em><strong>Puzzle<\/strong><\/em> and <strong>Rich Wilson<\/strong> performs an evening of observational hilarity in <em><strong>To The Cradle, From The Rave<\/strong><\/em> (Komedia Studio). <em><strong>Raising the Roof<\/strong><\/em> brings together <strong>Joe Wilkinson<\/strong>, <strong>Angela Barnes<\/strong>, <strong>Dinesh Nathan<\/strong>, <strong>James Ellis<\/strong> and <strong>Rich Wilson<\/strong> as MC in a comedy fundraiser for YMCA Brighton in the Basement, and award-winning character comedians <strong>Maddy and Marina Bye<\/strong> as <strong>Siblings<\/strong> perform surreal sketch show <em><strong>Dreamweavers<\/strong><\/em> (Komedia Studio).<\/p><blockquote><p><strong>Rosie Crane, Head of Programme at Brighton Dome, said:<\/strong><\/p><p><em>\u201cThis is our biggest and funniest comedy festival yet! Irish satirist and musician <strong>Blindboy Boatclub<\/strong> will be joined by a special guest for a live recording of <em><strong>The Blindboy Podcast<\/strong><\/em> and <strong>Nish Kumar<\/strong> brings <em><strong>Angry Humour from a Really Nice Guy<\/strong><\/em>. There are also performances from Funny Women award-winning <strong>Laura Smyth<\/strong>, comic, actor and podcast host <strong>Catherine Bohart<\/strong><em>, <\/em>viral comedy character sensation <strong>Jazz Emu<\/strong> and sci-fi streaked satire from <strong>Rosie Holt<\/strong>. <em>Taskmaster<\/em> star <strong>Stevie Martin<\/strong> weighs up the differences between online and live comedy in <em><strong>Clout<\/strong><\/em> and <strong>Celya AB<\/strong> says <em><strong>We Must Stop Meeting Like This<\/strong><\/em>. All performances at Brighton Dome will be live captioned, as part of the venue\u2019s commitment to accessibility in the arts.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Elsewhere, free comedy workshops for young people in partnership with <strong>Komedia Productions<\/strong> return to Brighton Dome Anita\u2019s Room, culminating in <em><strong>The Young Comedians Comedy Showcase<\/strong><\/em> at the end of the Festival. This year, Brighton Dome is also working with leading physical comedy ensemble <strong>Spymonkey<\/strong>, in partnership with Brighton-based charity <strong>Kennedy Street Recovery Hub<\/strong>, on <em><strong>Finding Your Funny<\/strong><\/em>, a 6-day comedy and clowning workshop for people in recovery from addiction.<\/p><p>Over at Komedia is multi-award-winning <strong>Phil Ellis<\/strong>, as well as hit cult show <em><strong>Solve-Along-Murder-She-Wrote<\/strong><\/em> and TV favourite <strong>Aurie Styla<\/strong>. Award-winning comic <strong>Alfie Brown<\/strong> performs <em><strong>The Entertainer<\/strong><\/em>, Edinburgh Comedy Award winner <strong>Jordan Brookes<\/strong> brings <em><strong>The Part of You That\u2019s Always Screaming<\/strong><\/em> and author and podcaster <strong>Robin Ince<\/strong> and character comedian <strong>Joanna Neary<\/strong> present an evening of stories, poetry and comedy. Spanish comic <strong>Sergi Polo<\/strong> brings fresh material from his sold-out UK and European tours; there\u2019s stand up from the critically acclaimed <strong>Amy Matthews<\/strong>; <em><strong>Funny Women Live in Brighton<\/strong><\/em> showcases the very best in new female identifying and non-binary local comedy talent; and <strong>Sooz Kempner<\/strong> performs a stand-up show about finding your voice.
