This has led to increasing financial pressures for Hove Park School, and it recently reduced its Published Admission Number (PAN) \u2013 the maximum number of students it can take per year \u2013 from 300 to 180.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hove Park School currently operates across two sites \u2013 Valley Campus and Nevill Campus. The council, with the support of the school, is proposing to consolidate all operations onto the Nevill Campus site from September 2028, releasing Valley Campus for disposal. \u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">An initial\u00a0consultation on the proposal was carried out last year between 22 April and 3 June 2025. That consultation received 169 responses: 60% of respondents were opposed to the proposal, 22% were\u00a0unsure\u00a0and 18% were in support.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A recurring theme in the feedback was a concern about the absence of preliminary drawings and design plans for the Nevill Road works, which made it difficult for respondents to assess the full implications of\u00a0the proposals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In response to this feedback, the council commissioned architectural designs for the Nevill Road Campus ahead of re-consulting so the community can engage with a clearer picture of what the consolidated school would look like. \u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Councillor\u00a0Jacob Taylor, Deputy Leader of the Council, said:\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re\u00a0seeking feedback on these proposals which\u00a0aim\u00a0to address\u00a0falling pupil numbers at\u00a0Hove Park\u00a0School,\u00a0as\u00a0reflected in\u00a0its\u00a0recent\u00a0PAN\u00a0reduction\u00a0from September 2026.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><blockquote><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThis is a really exciting opportunity for us to improve operational efficiency at Hove Park School while maintaining its distinctive culture and ethos and protecting educational quality for its pupils.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe want to hear from parents and carers,\u00a0students, school staff and governors and\u00a0local residents about these proposals to ensure any final plans reflect the needs of Hove Park School\u2019s community.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">After the public consultation, the responses will be analysed and a decision will be made whether to proceed with the publication of a statutory notice proposing closure of Valley Campus. \u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This would then be followed by a 4-week representation period from\u00a0Monday\u00a08 June\u00a0to\u00a0Monday 6\u00a0July, during which further feedback about the proposal can be made.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cabinet will then meet on Thursday 16 July to decide whether to go ahead with the proposal and to agree plans plans for the disposal of Valley Campus.
