Kidscape, the award-winning bullying prevention charity, is marking its 40th anniversary with a year-long campaign featuring stories, events, and discussions that shine a light on the impact of bullying and the importance of support.
Launching on 1st April 2025, the 40th-anniversary campaign will bring together young people, policymakers, and corporate leaders to raise awareness and drive change. Key highlights include:
- Arts award and spoken word evening – a celebration of young voices through art, performance, and storytelling, focusing on personal experiences with bullying and mental health.
- Live podcast panel – a discussion with corporate leaders and MPs exploring the critical links between bullying and the workplace.
- ‘40 Stories’ campaign – a moving collection of real-life experiences that highlight the impact of bullying from diverse perspectives, offering support, hope, and practical advice.
Running throughout the anniversary year, the ‘40 Stories’ initiative will amplify voices from across the UK, featuring personal testimonies through videography, live podcasts, poetry, articles, and diary entries. The campaign aims to create a national conversation, offering solidarity and strength to children, young people, and families affected by bullying.
In addition to raising awareness of the impact of bullying, Kidscape seeks to influence government policies, improve support systems, and secure vital funding to ensure every child facing bullying gets the help they need.
Commenting on the charity’s 40-year anniversary, Lucy Black, Head of Income and Partnerships at Kidscape, said: “Bullying can devastate young lives so, for the last 40 years, we’ve been working to give hope and help to thousands of affected children and families and work in communities to help keep children safe.
Marking this major milestone, we hope our new campaign will serve as a powerful reminder that no one should face bullying alone and by sharing these stories, we hope to inspire others to speak up, seek help, and be part of the change.
In these challenging times, we’re also urging new donors and partners to come forward to help us continue our essential work.”
