Steinway Global Ambassador Dominic Ferris performs at the inaugural Rainham Piano Festival in May

Dominic Ferris, the internationally acclaimed pianist, composer and arranger to the stars, has announced a special performance at the first ever Rainham Piano Festival – featuring a wide range of repertoire from George Gershwin to Elton John, and including his signature live piano requests – at St Margaret’s Church in Rainham, Kent, on Friday 2 May 2025 at 8pm.

Dominic Ferris is one of Britain’s leading piano stars and a global ambassador to flagship piano brand Steinway & Sons. He performed at the wedding of HRH Prince William and Kate Middleton and has collaborated with some of the world’s leading artists including Barry Manilow, Dame Shirley Bassey and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.

Alongside a selection of his trademark piano arrangements of popular songs from the British and American songbooks and excerpts from Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue, Dominic will also sing songs by some of the world’s most iconic piano showmen: Billy Joel and Elton John.

Dominic will be including his critically acclaimed Live Piano Requests segment, which became a YouTube sensation during the pandemic – giving the audience a chance to request any song and hear it played live on the spot.

West End star and classical No.1 charting soprano Georgi Mottram will be Dominic’s special guest star for the evening. Georgi has enjoyed success as a Classic Brit Award nominee and was hailed by ITV as the UK’s “Classical Rising Star”. She recently appeared alongside Katherine Jenkins at Last Night of The Proms and earlier this year performed to 30 million on Chinese television singing Time To Say Goodbye.

The concert will also include contributions from three local primary school choirs, presented by The Howard Academy Trust. Pupils from Deanwood, Temple Mill and Miers Court schools will join Dominic and Georgi on stage for a special Sherman Brothers medley, including songs from Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book, along with some well known Rodgers & Hammerstein standards.

Dominic Ferris said: “I am delighted to have been asked to perform at this new and exciting piano festival. It’s rare to have the privilege of performing at a brand new festival on one of the country’s finest Steinway Model D pianos, which is being specially brought in from Steinway Hall in London. I am also thrilled to be joined by one of the UK’s leading crossover sopranos, Georgi Mottram, who I’ve had the privilege of sharing the stage with over several years. I’m looking forward to bringing a diverse range of music to St Margaret’s Church where there will most definitely be something for everyone to enjoy”.

Jane Wright, Principal of Deanwood Primary School, said: “With music education often being sidelined in favour of the more traditional subjects, we are really excited to be able to give our children the opportunity to perform alongside Dominic and Georgi on a live stage. I am certain that this will be an experience they won’t forget!”
