‘Children For Change’ Anthology of stories & pictures from over 80 of the UK’s greatest writers & illustrators

The UK children’s author community has come together to create something truly extraordinary in Children For Change, a remarkable tapestry of children’s stories for every type of reader. Pop Up Projects hope it will inspire a generation to look around them, to take up the tools they need to make changes in their worlds, to change the future. We need to get the message out, to every primary school and parent, so they know how and where to get their hands on Children For Change when it is available to access on November 4th 2024. This anthology of stories, pictures and features with over 80 of the UK’s greatest writers and illustrators, plus emerging illustrators and young writers, will empower, motivate and mobilise children. Stories range from a love letter to Planet Earth, stories about marine conversation, changing habitats, food miles, poems extolling the beauty of our world with hopes and ways to ensure for better future; features on fast fashion, recycling, upcycling; rewilding – sowing the seeds for a better future. This collection is packed full of action points to help children to start to make small changes for a big impact. This free to access ebook anthology of stories and features covers topics on climate change that are integrated into KS2 national curriculum. From the causes, impacts and effects of climate change on the environment, weather patterns, biodiversity, heatwaves, renewable energy and sustainable practices, amongst other topics, giving children an understanding into the effects and causes whilst providing engaging and inspiring ways to help mitigate it.

Over 80 of the UK’s favourite children’s writers and illustrators have contributed to Children For Change, including: Creator of Tom Gates, Liz Pichon; Young Bond author, Charlie Higson; multi award-winning author of Boy Everywhere, AM Dassu; The Gruffalo illustrator, Axel Scheffler; bestselling authors of the Dragon Realm series, Katie & Kevin Tsang; Draw with Rob creator, Rob Biddulph; former Waterstones Children’s Laureate, Joseph Coelho; former Blue Peter presenter and author of the Cookie series, Konnie Huq; and best-selling author and comedian David Baddiel amongst many other household names.

Joining these great authors is a star collection of leading environmentalists, award winning campaigners and industry experts who have contributed to the anthology; Author, Leading Naturalist and TV presenter, Chris Packham; Celebrity Chef, Restaurateur and cookbook author. Jamie Oliver: and Retail Expert and TV Broadcaster, Mary Portas amongst many others have written pieces to inspire young people to some take action to help protect our environment.
