I have been trialling the Evenswiss Rejuvenating Serum and the Evenswiss Rejuvenating Eye Complex from Dermoi because they both contain Dermatopoietin which (and I didn’t know this before) is safer to use in the hot summer months than products containing retinoids and AHAs, which increase photosensitivity (sensitivity to the sun). I have definitely noticed that putting perfume on when it’s sunny makes my skin quite red and itchy, so I can totally understand that some products are best put back on the shelf until the weather cools down a bit. The Evenswiss products are scent free, with a lovely silky texture, not too thin and not too thick, and are quickly and easily absorbed into the skin, smoothing, plumping and softening any crinkly bits. The softening effects last all day; you don’t find that you have dried out and need to reapply, even in very hot weather. I know I don’t get on with facial oils, as I don’t find them moisturising enough, and I often find that serums can feel a bit on the thin side, but the Rejuvenating Serum has more substance and in texture seems to sit somewhere between a serum and a moisturising cream. The serum contains ingredients which increase the immune system of the skin and ‘repair minor skin defects’ and whilst checking for results I noticed that the small rough patch on my forehead by my hairline, which I have had for years, has dramatically improved. It hadn't been visible, but I could feel it and would scratch at it a bit, and even microdermabrasion facials couldn’t smooth it out, but I have found that it has now all but disappeared (I had to really search to find out where it had been) and the only change I have made is using the Evenswiss serum, so I think there is a very good chance that the active ingredients in the serum have helped my skin to heal and rebalance itself in that area.
The products come in an elegant frosted glass bottle, cleverly shaped so that you never feel that you might drop it with oily hands. There is a pump action top that dispenses a small amount at a time, so there is no waste and the pump can be turned to close securely for travelling. All of the outer packaging is easily recyclable cardboard. The product packaging doesn’t specify, but the Dermoi website confirms that they only stock products that are cruelty-free. Evenswiss products are made in Switzerland and are paraben free.
