Dynamic Duo takes on Performing Arts Schools

Dance Duo Andy and Samantha Sullivan are set to take the helm of two prestigious Stagecoach Performing Arts schools in Basingstoke and Basingstoke West.

The married couple, both 32, will bring over 25 years of combined experience to Stagecoach Performing Arts Basingstoke & Basingstoke West as the new Principals.

They are long standing members of the Stagecoach family having both been dance teachers at Guildford and Reading at the tender ages of 19.

Prior to their new venture, Andy and Samantha, both studied at the Guildford School of acting, where they met. Performing arts has very much been a part of their family life, and they have been able to embark on their careers together, providing support and encouragement every step of the way.

Samantha, who will be taking over Basingstoke West, has taught dance and choreography extensively and has performed in a number of iconic venues including the Royal Albert Hall in London.  She also directs a touring cabaret group that perform in theatres across the UK including The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Andy, who will be taking ownership of Basingstoke, has been able to branch out across the pond and has performed in productions across the UK, Europe and America.  These productions include, Blood Brothers, Joseph and his Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat and Annie.

Samantha says, ‘They say you shouldn’t mix business with pleasure, but they couldn’t be more wrong. The family support unit that we’ve built over the years has helped us immensely, and this is the work ethic that we would like to bring to the schools.’

She adds, ‘We both have such fond memories of being at Stagecoach and we hope to create more amazing memories with our pupils. We want to create a safe space for them to express themselves and really grow in confidence.’

Stagecoach Theatre Arts Basingstoke and Basingstoke West are part of a network of more than 600 part-time Theatre Arts Schools Worldwide. Early Stages classes are available for children aged 4 to 6 and Main Stages classes take place for 6 to 18 year olds.
