Beach Hut 279
Family friendly art installation by artist William Wyatt taking place in Beach Hut 279 on Hove Seafront (Kingsway BN3 4FD) as part of the Brighton Fringe next Saturday 20 May from 11am – 5pm (free to drop in throughout the day).
The piece asks visitors ‘when was the last time you wrote a letter to someone?’ and encourages them with free stationery provided to write a letter to anyone of their choosing – whether to a friend, relative, lover, politician, prisoner or personal hero. Examples of famous letters from history will be displayed around the beach hut as inspiration. All letters can be posted and again stamps will be provided. There will be the opportunity to sign up for a penpal and also to launch a limited number of messages in bottles throughout the day into the sea.
